As per some of the recent reports, the 2014 BMW M6 lineup which consists of Coupe, Convertible, GranCoupe versions will also be offered with a Competition Package.
Just some time back we had found out that the 2014 M5 will be available with an optional Competition Package that will increase the output of the 4.4-liter twin-turbo V8 engine by 15 bhp (11 kW), resulting in a total power output of 567 bhp (423 kW). The same technique will be applied for the entire 2014 M6 family as the Coupe, Convertible and GranCoupe will also benefit from the added horsepower and other tweaks.
In addition to increase in power output, the 2014 M5 and M6 models are expected to get different alloys, updated sportier suspension setup, black exhaust tips and a more direct steering ratio. As a result of increase in power, the time to reach 0-62 mph (0-100 kmph) will be reduced by 0.1 second while the top speed will probably be electronically-capped to 190 mph (305 kmph).
This decision has certainly not come as a surprise and the additional Competition package will surely make the customers happy.
