The automaker Scion has decided to make an official reveal for its latest iM vehicle model in this year’s New York Auto Show event. The car was unveiled as soon as the auto expo in question kicked off.
To be honestly speaking, the car is essentially a rebadged Toyota Auris. This can be seen clearly on the design featured on the vehicle. It comes in the form of a hatchback and is equipped with five doors, no less. The car looks sporty in terms of design. To make it even more appealing, the car is offered at quite an affordable price in spite of all the luxury amenities it can possibly offer for a fun and comfortable driving experience. According to Scion, customers will be able to drive the car home without having to pay for more than $20,000.
With that amount of money, buyers of the newly launched iM from Scion will be eligible for eight airbags in total as standard, including a knee airbag for the driver and a cushion airbag for the front passenger. In addition to the airbags, the car is also coming with an acoustic layer windshield, electrically folding side mirrors that are also equipped with heaters, double wishbone suspension on the rear end and also 17-inch alloy wheels.
Sitting inside the cabin of the car, customers will definitely feel very comfortable, thanks to the quietness provided by the foam type insulation and floor silencer sheets integrated to the vehicle. In addition, passengers inside will also benefit from Pioneer Display Audio unit with 6 speakers, leather steering wheel for the driver, a dual zone automatic climate control system, automatic headlamps and also an MID panel with a 4.2-inch TFT screen.
Those who are willing to spend even a bit more money on the 2016 Scion iM will even be rewarded with more exciting stuffs. These include a set of all-weather floor mats, interior illumination, body graphics, navigation system and also a host of high performance accessories developed by the Toyota Racing Department (TRD) division. The latter includes anti-roll bars, lowered springs, air intake system and many more.
The 2016 Scion iM will expectedly go on sale no later than this fall.
