With many cars making their debut at the Frankfurt Motor Show in September, the latest car to be launched at the show is Spark-Renault SRT_01E Formula E race car by Spark Racing Technology.
Considered to be one the most prominent race cars in the series, SRT_01E has a Dallara-designed monocoque chassis that is made out of carbon fiber and aluminum. The model also features aerodynamic styling and bespoke Michelin tires that are specifically designed to last the entire race.
Though the McLaren-sourced electric powertrain can generate output of up to 270 hp (200 kW); the maximum output would be limited to just 180 hp (133 kW) during races. However, the drivers do have an option to use a ‘Push-to-Pass’ system which temporary allows the car to harness its full potential.
With the help of the above, the Spark-Renault SRT_01E Formula E race car would be able to accelerate from 0-100 kmph (0-62 mph) in approximately 3 seconds and can hit a FIA-limited top speed of 225 kmph (140 mph).
The Frankfurt Motor Show is surely going to be exciting with almost all major car makers participating in it. The show will held in September in Germany.
