For those who remember, in December 2014, the South Korean automaker, SsangYong, teased its upcoming vehicle model known as the Tivoli. Besides the teaser, there were also some quite revealing images back then. Now, the automaker has officially taken the veil off its latest compact SUV model in its home country, South Korea, in Seoul, to be precise.

For those who have yet to know, SsangYong is a company owned by Mahindra and the latest compact SUV it is offering has been built on the chassis of the new X100. Taking a close look at the design featured on the new SUV, it can be seen that it is heavily inspired by the XIV Adventure and the XIV Air concept vehicles that were shown off during the 2014 Paris Motor Show event. As a result, the car comes with aggressive front and rear bumpers, headlamps with integrated LED daytime running lights and plastic wheel arches painted in black.

Stepping into the cabin of the vehicle, the car features a touchscreen infotainment system, a rearview parking camera, Bluetooth connection, a dual zone climate control system and also seven airbags in total.

When it comes to the power source it has hidden under the hood, buyers can expect a 1.6L e-XGi engine that can be mated to either a manual or an automatic 6-speed transmission. The engine will deliver 126 hp and 157 Nm of power and torque, respectively. For the manual version, the company claims that the fuel consumption of the Tivoli lies at 8.1 L/100 km. As for the automatic version, it is rated at 8.3 L/100 km.

It is said that the company is planning to sell no less than 100,000 units of the SsangYong Tivoli each year. Sales will start from South Korea. Other markets, such as South America, China and Europe, will follow later on.
