Wichita Police arrested a 16-year-old in relation to a short car chase that caused injuries to a Wichita Police officer Tuesday morning.

Around 3:40 a.m., officers were called to a suspicious character call in the 3500 block of North Inwood, Kansas. The caller said that multiple people in a red Dodge Durango and a white Chevy Silverado were checking vehicle door handles and entering cars that were unlocked.

When officers attended the scene, they observed the Durango and tried to stop it, but the driver declined and led officers on a pursuit. During the chase, a 16-year-old driving the Silverado wilfully rammed a patrol vehicle, police said. The 16-year-old driver then ran into several utility poles and rammed a second patrol vehicle. Police said the teen then got out of the truck and attempted to flee, but officers arrested him.

Wichita police published a video of the crash on their Facebook page Tuesday afternoon.

Two Wichita Police Officers were admitted to the hospital with small injuries.
