Remember the AUDI R8 which was launched seven years back??
Yes, the Audi R8 has been renovated completely, though the two seater arrangement is still on. The Audi R8 needed some modifications in its appearance and yes, the replacement of the old-fashioned six-speed gearbox.
Firstly, let us look over the modifications in the appearance of the supercar. The front of the car has now been altered and full LED Headlights have been included. A redesigned diffuser has also been included, and yes, the front bumper has been slightly tweaked.
So, what does this mean??
The new 2013 AUDI R8 looks FAB… Its a charmer..
Moving on to the internal modifications–
The 5.2-liter V10 has also been slightly improved compared to the standard V10 model, producing 550 horsepower and 398 pound-feet torque. The gearbox is now a 7-speed S-Tronic automatic instead of the earlier six-speed one. Audi claims a reduced 0-100kph time of just 3.6 seconds for the 525bhp V10 Coupe, 3.8 for the V10 Spyder and 4.3 for the 430bhp V8 Coupe. The updated V10 engine will also help the Coupe speed to a maximum of 314kph.
The new seven-speed S-tronic transmission utilizes two multi-plate clutches. Each clutch engages with two independent sub-transmissions and alternately select gears, resulting in smoother shifts that take mere hundredths of as second. Also, a six-speed manual gearbox option is still offered.
Finally, the big affair, the PRICES–
Audi has priced the updated R8 V8 Coupe at Rs 1.34 crore, the V10 Coupe at Rs 1.57 crore and the V10 Spyder at Rs 1.73 crore (all prices ex-showroom, Delhi).
