Three children and mother killed in Missouri in a two-car crash

A mother and her three children were killed in a head-on car crash in Pear Street in St. Joseph, Missouri on Friday night.

St. Joseph Police said the crash took place in the 2900 block of Pear St. around 11 p.m Friday. Two cars crashed head-on sending one of the cars off the road and into a ditched filled with water.

A 22-year-old mother and three of her children were died due to the accident.

“Anytime children lose their lives it’s terrible,” Sgt. James Tonn SJPD said. “We all have kids, we don’t want to see anything like this.”

The mother and two kids were declared dead at the scene. A third child was admitted to the hospital where they later died, according to a family member. All three children were less than 4 years old.

Police said two others suffered injuries in the crash. Their injuries were not serious.
