Three dead after head-on car crash in Folsom

Three people were killed after a car crash in Folsom, California on Tuesday evening.

The crash took place at around 4 p.m. along the Folsom Lake Crossing near the dam.

Two vehicles were involved in the crash and suffered heavy damage. One car crossed the center divider into oncoming traffic and struck head-on into the other vehicle.

Two of the people were pronounced dead at the scene while the other succumbed to his injuries at the hospital.

Their identities have not yet been released.

Folson Police Department is investigating the crash.
