Three killed after Metra train crashes with car in Chicago

Two adults and a child were killed after a vehicle was struck by a Metra train Sunday evening on the Far South Side in Chicago.

In East Beverly about 5 p.m. Sunday, an inbound train crashed with a vehicle at West 107th Street and South Vincennes Avenue, according to officials. The car ended up close to 103rd Street after being pushed by the Rock Island District line train.

The adults and a child in the vehicle were declared dead on the scene.

There were 41 passengers on the train. Three passengers reported injuries, and two of them were taken to hospital.

Officials are investigating the crash.
