Three people were killed following a car crash on a Rhode Island highway on early Tuesday morning.
Officials attended the scene of the single-vehicle crash on Interstate 95 in West Warwick just before 2 a.m.
The sedan was traveling south at a high rate of speed before the driver lost control of the vehicle, veered off the road and onto the grass shoulder, hit a tree, and was engulfed.
After officials extinguished the flames, troopers found the driver and two passengers inside the vehicle. They were pronounced dead at the scene.
The identities of the victims couldn’t be established at this time.
All three individuals were admitted to the state medical examiner’s office for identification through dental records.
