Three killed after wrong-way crash on Stevenson Expressway, Chicago

Three people died following a wrong-way car crash on the Stevenson Expressway, Chicago on Friday.

A driver in a Hyundai sedan was going the wrong way. He went into the Stevenson at Cicero Avenue and crashed head-on with another vehicle, a Toyota SUV, around 12:35 a.m.

A woman and passenger in the Hyundai were killed.

The driver of the other car died as well.

The identities of the victims have been released as a 54-year-old Khalid Jaber of Oak Lawn. The other was 26-year-old Rella Norey of Chicago’s Back of the Yards neighborhood.

The identity of the third person was not released as of yet.

The southbound lanes of the Stevenson between Cicero and Central avenues were shut as the investigation into the incident continued. They were reopened by 5:30 a.m.
