Two Iowa residents were killed in a car crash near Crofton in northeastern Nebraska.
The crash took place around the afternoon on Tuesday at a rural Cedar County intersection.
Officials say the crash took place when a 90-year-old Orleans, Nebraska, man was southbound and approaching the intersection and was hit by an eastbound car.
The driver of the car, a 74-year-old identified as William Koontz, of Sioux City, was pronounced dead at the scene.
A passenger in his car, a 71-year-old identified as Anita Koontz of Sioux City, was hospitalized in Yankton, South Dakota, where she succumbed to her injuries.
The driver of the pickup was hospitalized with minor injuries.
