Two people died after a car crash on Christmas Eve just south of the intersection of Commercial Street and Browning Avenue SE in Salem, Oregon.

Officials attended the incident at about 9:30 p.m. and they found a Jeep SUV on its side in the roadway and a Nissan sedan in a landscaping strip.

Jeep SUV traveling northbound on Commercial Street crashed with the Nissan as the sedan turn east into the parking lot of a business. After that, the sedan then hit another vehicle already in the business parking lot.

The driver of the Nissan sedan, identified as Jason Pelletier, 43, of Salem, and a front-seat passenger, identified as Linda Lee, 61, of McMinnville, were both pronounced dead at the scene.

Pelletier’s 22-year-old daughter, Erin Pelletier, and the driver of the SUV, Daniel McDaniel, 52, were admitted to Salem Health for treatment.
