Two people were killed after a car crash on I-90, in Monroe County, Wisconsin on Monday night
The two people were occupying a Subaru Outback station wagon which crashed into a tractor-trailer and engulfed.
The semi had broken down and was stopped along the shoulder of the interstate, close to mile marker 26.5, outside of Sparta, according to Wisconsin State Patrol.
Officials found the Outback did not have its lights activated when it crashed with the semi around 10 p.m. They found that the wagon went under the car’s trailer and then engulfed.
Both people in the Subaru were pronounced dead at the crash.
Their identifies have not been released.
The interstate was closed following the crash but was later reopened.
The wreck remains under investigation by WSP.
