Two killed after car crashes into fuel tank at Syracuse airport

Two people died after their vehicle crashed into a fuel tank at the Syracuse airport on Wednesday.

The crash took place at about 4:30 a.m. in the 800 block of Malden Road which runs along the south side of Syracuse Hancock International Airport.

Both people inside the vehicle were pronounced dead at the scene.

There was no fire or explosion associated with the fuel tank.

The vehicle had hit an aviation fuel tank on airport property, which is still intact.

Syracuse police are investigating the crash.

No names of the involved have been released at this time.
