Two men were killed after a car crash in Acadia Parish on Sunday.

The victims have been identified as Derrick Ceasar Jr., 20, and Tywon Thorn, 20, around 7 p.m. crash on La. 35 near Pointe Noir Road.

Ceasar was traveling south on the highway in a car. Thorn was a passenger.

Ceasar crossed the center line and into the northbound lane. That time, an SUV with 11 people in it was traveling north. That driver pulled to the shoulder to try to prevent Ceasar’s car, but he still hit struck SUV head-on, troopers say.

Neither Ceasar nor Thorn were using seat belts, and they both were pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the SUV and her passengers were admitted to an area hospital with mild to moderate injuries.

The investigation is being carried out by Louisiana State Troopers.
