Two people were killed after a car crash on the FDR Drive in New York City on Friday.
The driver of the car is now facing criminal charges.
Bronx resident identified as Daquan Allen, 33, was driving a 2006 Infiniti with passengers identified as Kesha Montez, 35, and Mahogany Robinson, 29, when he crashed while driving north on the FDR Drive.
Allen lost control of the car at East 74th Street and struck into a concrete barrier.
The car then engulfed.
After the fire was put out by responding FDNY personnel, the two passengers were pronounced dead at the scene.
Allen was admitted to NY Presbyterian Hospital-Weil Cornell Medical Center in serious but stable condition and placed in police custody.
Allen has been charged with reckless driving.
NYPD Highway District’s Collision Investigation Squad is investigating the crash.
