Two killed after car crash in Lafourche Parish, Louisiana

A car crash in Lafourche Parish, Louisiana killed two people on Sunday morning.

The crash took place around 8 a.m. on Highway 24.

The crash fatalities have been identified as, a 38-year-old named Elton Billiot, Jr. of Houma, and a 50-year-old named Raye Pigott of Montegut.

Billiot was traveling north on LA 24 in a 2000 Nissan Sentra when Pigott was traveling south on LA 24 in a 2008 GMC Acadia.

Billiot then crossed the centerline in a curve and hit Pigott’s vehicle head-on.

Soon the Nissan was engulfed in fire.

Both drivers were pronounced dead at the scene.

Impairment and a high rate of speed on the part of Billiot are thought to factors in this crash.
