Two killed after car crash on US Highway 98

Two people were killed on Friday morning after a car crash on U.S. Highway 98 in Jefferson County.

The crash took place when a pickup truck pulling a tow dolly loaded with a passenger car was traveling westbound and it crossed over the eastbound lane before entering the south shoulder of U.S. 98.

The truck then steered back into the eastbound lane into the path of a semi-tractor and pulled a hazmat trailer.

The vehicles crashed on the center line. Both passengers of the pickup truck were pronounced dead at the scene and the driver of the semi suffered small injuries.

The crash is under investigation by Florida Highway Patrol.
