Two killed and two injured after car crash in Elkhart County

Two were killed in a single-vehicle crash on Friday afternoon in Elkhart County, Indiana.

Both victims were children.

The crash took place when a 2001 Oldsmobile Alero was traveling south on County Road 3 just north of County Road 38 around 3:50 p.m. went off the road and hit a utility pole and a tree.

The driver, identified as 28-year-old Jessica Tubbs of Elkhart, was admitted to the hospital with life-threatening injuries.

Two passengers aged 5 and 3 were pronounced dead at the scene.

An 8-year-old girl who was in the front seat was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The crash remains under investigation.
