Two killed, five injured after Mission Beach car crash

Two people were killed following a multi-vehicle crash in the Mission Beach area in San Diego on Saturday.

Officials responded to the reports of a crash around 3:15 p.m.

The crash took place on the 2900 block of Mission Boulevard when a Kia sedan, and Ford SUV mangled against a parked Mercedes sedan.

The impact of the crash sent water gushing into the roadway.

A 62-year-old man in the Ford SUV and a 59-year-old woman in the Kia sedan were pronounced dead at the scene.

Five others were admitted to local hospitals in moderate to critical conditions.

No pedestrians were injured.
