Two were killed and the other five were injured on a northeast Philadelphia boulevard around 12:10 a.m on Saturday.
The crash took place when an SUV was heading south on Roosevelt Boulevard at high speed. It then hit a curb and flew 15 to 20 feet before it flipped into two vehicles stopped at a red light.
A 34-year-old identified as Amber Shanta Brown and an 11-year-old identified as Tai’rhey Brown were pronounced dead at the scene.
A 57-year-old man driving the SUV was admitted to Einstein Medical Center in critical condition.
A 15-year-old boy and a 12-year-old girl had a critical condition as they were going through treatment at St. Christopher’s Hospital.
Two people in one of the cars were admitted to a hospital with non-life-threatening.
A portion of Roosevelt Boulevard was closed for hours after the crash as police investigation into the incident continue.
