Two people were killed and a third person was injured after a wrong-way driver struck an oncoming car on the westbound 60 Freeway in Riverside County on Saturday morning.
Officials learn about the crash at about 3:30 a.m. which took place just east of Gilman Springs Road.
A female driver was traveling eastbound at about 90 mph when her car crashed with a Chevrolet Malibu.
Both drivers were pronounced dead at the scene.
Their identities are yet to be released.
Malibu’s passenger was admitted to the hospital with major injuries.
All westbound lanes were closed due to the crash.
The freeway was fully resumed shortly after 7:30 a.m.
California Highway Patrol is investigating the crash.
