Volkswagen has recently announced that the electric version of the Golf VII is now effectively on sale in Germany which kicks off from 34,900 EUR.
Described by Volkswagen as “the most successful European car of all time”, the Golf can now be had in an all-electric variant with four doors and a 115 HP (85 kW) motor that provides an instant torque of 270 Nm (199 lb-ft). The vehicle will be able to do 0-37 mph (0-60 kmph) in 4.2 seconds and will take 10.4 seconds to touch 62 mph (100 kmph).
Depending on the driving style and various other factors, the 2014 Volkswagen e-Golf has an estimated range between 81 miles (130 km) and 118 miles (190 km). It is offered with an eight-year / 160,000 km guarantee for the 24.2 kWh battery and the company claims that running costs of the e-Golf stand at just 3.28 EUR per 100 km.
It comes as standard with features such as a heated windscreen, Discover Pro radio & navigation system, leather-wrapped steering wheel, aero-optimized alloys, full LED headlights and unique C-shaped LED daytime running lights.
