Volkswagen recommends brands pause advertising on Twitter

Volkswagen on Friday said it recommended to its brands to pause paid advertising on social media platform Twitter until further notice following Elon Musk‘s takeover of the social media platform.

“We are closely monitoring the situation and will decide about the next steps depending on its evolvement,” the automaker said.

Volkswagen group covers the VW, Seat, Cupra, Audi, Lamborghini, Bentley, Ducati and Porsche brands.

It has echoed similar comments from other firms, including General Motors and General Mills Inc.
