If you happen to be one proud owner of the Pulsar vehicle model from the Japanese automotive marquee, Nissan, you may well be in for a treat. The thing is, the Japanese company in question has decided to release a new engine for its aforementioned vehicle model. This new engine is a turbocharged petrol engine that has a total displacement capacity of 1.6 liters.
The Japanese automaker first introduced this very engine during the debut of the Pulsar model. This debut happened back in May last year. Now, the company has eventually released the engine for real. According to the claim made by Nissan, this new 1.6 DIG-T engine will be the most powerful as well as sportiest engine that the range will ever see. The engine in question offers no less than 190 HP of power output and 240 Nm of torque. Believe it or not, it is enough to take the vehicle from an idle state to the speed of 100 km/h within only 7.7 seconds.
The Japanese company also points out that the engine in question has a ‘more with less’ delivery characteristic. The company points out that the Nissan Pulsar, in spite of its quite athletic performance, consumes only 4.75 liters of fuel for every one hundred kilometers traveled in average. In addition to that, it has a CO2 emission of just 134 g/km.
Besides the more capable engine, it turns out that the Nissan Pulsar has also been gifted with improved steering system, retuned suspension, newly designed rear dampers and also stiffened body shell. The car can be seen sitting on 18-inch wider wheels as well.
For your information, the new Nissan Pulsar with the DIG-T 190 engine is already on sale. The vehicle comes with a price tag of GBP 19,645 for the base model.
