1962 Custom Corvette “C1RS” is the Street Machine of the Year

At the Goodguys 12th PPG Nationals in Columbus, Ohio a 1962 Custom Corvette was named “Street Machine of the Year”. Built by The Roadster Shop for Barry Blomquist this custom C1 Corvette uses very few of the original components.

Dubbed “C1RS” it is a striking blend of hand formed aluminum and carbon fiber.

This custom Corvette features custom chassis and suspension components. Under the hood is a 618 horsepower LS7 by Turnkey Engines producing 640ft lbs of torque. Stopping power is provided by Brembo 14 1/2 inch, 6-piston brakes.

Even though it is a show car it can also perform very well on the race track. Street Machine of the Year award criteria calls for all participants to log at least 3 laps on the Autocross course. C1RS posted the fastest lap of the event in 32.2 seconds.

Interior upgrades include custom seats in Italian red leather with Alcantara suede accents, hand-sculpted aluminum dash housing classic instruments with carbon fiber gauges, hand-made center console and F1 inspired foot pedals.
