A 29-year-old man was arrested over a deadly DUI-related car crash that took place on early Sunday morning near Ravenel in South Carolina.
The crash took place just after 1 a.m. on Highway 165 near Shilelagh Oaks Parkway when the driver of a GMC pickup truck was moving north veered across the lane of the highway, and struck a Chevrolet van head-on.
The van driver and passenger were pronounced dead at the scene.
The pickup truck driver, identified as Jose Ramirez-Sandoval, failed a field sobriety test and was found to be intoxicated.
Ramirez-Sandoval was arrested on two counts of felony DUI which resulted in death.
He was admitted to the hospital after complaining of an injury and is set to be held at the Al Cannon Detention Center once treated.
Charleston County Sheriff’s Office investigated the crash.
