2 dead, 2 injured after car crash on I-75 in Suwannee County

Two individuals were killed after a car crash on I-75 in Suwannee County on Sunday morning.

Two children were seriously injured in the crash.

The crash took place when a 28-year-old Wimauma man was driving his SUV northbound on the interstate around 11:10 a.m. and he crossed lanes faster than the vehicles around him and struck the back of another SUV.

After the crash, he went onto the grass shoulder and the SUV flipped before coming to rest on its roof.

The driver and three children ranging between the ages of four to eight were all ejected from the car.

The driver and the 6-year-old female passenger succumbed to their injuries in hospital.

The 8-year-old and 4-year-old were flown to the hospital in serious condition.

The driver of the SUV was not injured.

Florida Highway Patrol investigated the crash.
