2 killed, 1 injured after vehicle crash on Highway 150, Buchanan County

Two died and one was injured after a three-vehicle crash along Iowa Highway 150 in Buchanan County.

At around 2:55 p.m., officials were notified of the crash on Highway 150.

A 2005 Mercury Grand Marquis, which was driven by Nicholas Johnson, 40, of Oelwein, was traveling southbound on the highway and crossed the center line. It then crashed with a 2006 Toyota Sienna, which was driven by John Friend, 70, of Davenport.

Friend and Johnson died due to the crash.

A third person was flown via air ambulance to the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics.

A 2019 Chevrolet Tahoe, was traveling behind the Toyota and was struck by debris caused by the crash.

Highway 150 was closed for some time after the crash.

Iowa State Patrol is investigating the crash.
