2006 Spyker C8 Spyder auctioned off at Monterey

A 2006 Spyker C8 from Spyder has been put under the auctioneer’s hammer at the RM Auctions held at Monterey. The car having run less than 400 miles is expected to fetch an amount between $150,000 to $200,000.

Technical details of the car include a 4,172 cc mid-rear mounted V8 engine of Audi make. The engine is capable of developing 400 bhp. The engine has aluminum block and heads, dual cam shafts, five valves per cylinder, variable valve timing, and electronic sequential-port fuel injection. For transmission there is the six speed manual gearbox in rear transaxle of Getrag make. The car has a four wheel independent suspension system. Weighing just 2,750 lbs the car makes for very outstanding power to weight ratio, which is evident from the acceleration figures which stands at 4.4 seconds flat for the 0 to 60 mph sprint. The styling resembles the fuselage type there are rear “cannon-port” vents and a very distinct grille intake which is wide as well. The steering wheel is propeller inspired and there is the engine turned dash insert feature.

The car can seat two and has a Metallic Blue finish while the interior is done up with tan leather. This car comes from a large private automobile collection and has been handmade from a convertible sports car.
