Volvo is known for their boxy design and safety. With the all-new S60 Volvo wants to get rid of the old boxy image, but surely wants to keep their high reputation for safety.
New S60 sedan is very similar to the S60 Concept that we saw earlier this year at the Detroit Auto Show.
Gone are some of the details we saw on the concept like suicide doors and panoramic roof, but the overall shape is very similar. A lot more sportier and dynamic than the current aging S60.
“The all-new Volvo S60 is sculpted to move you. It looks and drives like no other Volvo before and the car’s technology will help you to be safer and more confident behind the wheel,” says Stephen Odell, President and CEO of Volvo Cars.
The Volvo S60 can be equipped with a new safety feature called Pedestrian Detection. This new feature can detect pedestrians in front of the car and brake automatically if the driver does not react in time.
World debut is next March at the Geneva Motor Show. Production will start in early summer at the Volvo Cars plant in Ghent, Belgium.
