A new car is to come into the market that would give the criminals a run for their speed. This car was announced by Chrysler as the 2011 Dodge Charger Pursuit.
The special features of the car are its heavy-duty anti-lock vented-disc brakes (ABS), front- and rear-stabilizer bars, 18-inch performance tires on steel wheels and two-mode police-specific Electronic Stability Control (ESC) calibration. The car even has performance suspension tuning. The rear wheel drive design and the redesigned front ensure a smooth and comfortable ride in association with the rear multi-link suspension geometries. The interior holds a Police Interface Module which provides for easy equipment integration, and also has police-duty front seats.
There is also the automatic transmission with Auto Stick mounted on the column and there is red or white LED interior lighting which caters for night-vision equipment.
Front passenger air bags and advanced multistage driver as well as seat mounted side thorax air bags makes up some of the safety features that has been built into the car. There are also the supplemental side-curtain air bags for front and rear outboard passengers, driver’s knee bag, tire-pressure monitoring and more.
For power there is the E-85 unit of 3.6 liter Pentastar V-6 engine. The engine has variable valve timing feature and there is option if having the 5.7 liter HEMI V8 engine installed on the car which has fuel saving Multi-displacement System. The car is expected to be up for taking orders from September this year.
