2011 Maserati GranTurismo S Automatic Sport Pack Introduced For UK: First Official Pictures And Prices

by Sebastian Bivin

Maserati GranTurismo was the first, then the GranTurismo S, and mostly recently the track-hardened MC Stradale. Now Maserati UK released a new Sport Pack for its selling model in the UK, the GranTurismo Automatic S, featuring the MC Auto Shift software and a revised exhaust system which keeps its bypass valves fully open in Sport mode for an enhanced sound.

Next to the performance aspects, the Maserati GranTurismo S Automatic Sport Pack also contains a series of visual elements. These elements include body coloured side sills and front winglets, black mesh side grilles, darkened headlights, a black grille featuring the Trident logo with red accents, a boot lid lip, oval shaped exhaust pipes, along with Grigio Mercury Neptune-design alloy wheels to finish off its sportier look.

Featuring a 4.7-litre V8, which develops 440 horsepower at 7,000 rpm, the GranTurismo S Automatic comes fitted with dual-cast brake discs as standard.  The maximum torque is 490 Nm at 4,750 rpm and it sprints from 0 to 100km/h (0 to 62mph) in 5 seconds flat. This model’s top speed is rated at 183 mph. The upgraded model features a ZF 6-speed automatic gearbox that improves both the engine performances and fuel economy.

Maseratis said: “This Sport pack further enhances the GranTurismo S Automatic to deliver a performance oriented experience, whilst retaining the ease and convenience of the ZF automatic transmission.”

Price: £3,840 (a brand-new GranTurismo Automatic S fitted with the kit costs £92,480)
