There is a passion for Proton to make cars that bears an uncanny resemble to those that emerge from the Mitsubishi stable. They have even come up with a new concept that has their own flavor of the Mitsubishi in it.

Proton the Malaysian automaker has come out with the concept named Jebat which is part of their own series of the “Pahlawan” models. They would be displaying the concept car at the Kuala Lumpur International Motor Show.

The Jebat engine is a 2.0 liter turbocharged one and producing 237 hp. That is one difference and thereafter one would find a lot of resemblance with the Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution.

Yet the design is unique in that the Jebat concept has a matt black coat at both the front and rear of the car. This matches the strip which goes around the lower section of the doors. There are three bonnet vents and also the daytime LED lights are installed on the car. The rear spoiler has been taken from the Mitsubishi Evo performance package. The resemblance also extends to the wide body style front and rear fenders of the car. To give it a sporty look Proton company decided to go for an 18 inch wheel.

There is some internal modification also that has been applied like the Recaro seats having red stitch and a Clarion touch screen ICE system.

The concept may remain at that stage given the production line and history of Malaysia. It is however a car that one would sure love to drive in if it ever makes to the market.
