The official Aston Martin’s website, by the place where they put in the V12 Zagato (between the One-77 and the DBS) confirms the new model’s place in the company’s production lineup. In the fourth slide showcasing, the model is accompanied by the statement “only a strictly limited run of road going cars will be built”.
The 2012 Aston Martin V12 Zagato is based on the Aston Martin V12 Vantage, but features fresh bodywork penned by the namesake Italian design house. The car celebrates of fifty years of collaboration between Aston Martin and Zagato, dating back to the original DB4 GT. So Aston Martin Zagato V12 is powered by the same 510 hp V12 engine as in the DBS and V12 Vantage.
The new car made its debut appearance in concept form at the Villa D’Este Concours on May 21, an event it won.
More recently, the racing version of the Aston Zagato took part in the Nurburgring 24-hour endurance race. This one will be preserved in museum, and occasionally come out for special events.
Given where Aston has placed the model among its existing products, a very high purchase price is probable and, because of his price, the production will be probably under 50 units.
