According to autoblog.nl, Bugatti is planning to release a new version of the world’s fastest car, the Bugatti Veyron Grand SuperSport.
The rumors state that this model will be released in the first half of 2012 and will have between 1001 and 1200 horsepower. Other technical specifications will probably be close or exactly the same as in the previous models: 8L W16 quad-turbocharged engine, 7-speed DSG sequential transmission, 4.462 metres (length), 1.998 metres (width), 1.159 metres (height), and a weight of 1.888 kg. The price might be a bit higher than the one of previous models, but it will be still circling around $1,700,000, and will probably be the most expensive car in the world.
Also, the spyphotos released in August reveal that the 2012 Bugatti Veyron Grand SuperSport will be an improved edition of the convertible Veyron. The NACA air ducts which are usually found on the SuperSport model of Bugatti’s Veyron have been replaced with the Grand Sport air intakes, because NACA air ducts don’t work with the roof removed.
It is also rumored that Bugatti is planning to replace the open-top setup with a glass one.
It is expected that the Bugatti Veyron Grand SuperSport will be released at the Geneva Motor Show in March. We will fill you in as more information is released.
