After deciding to treat us with a photo of the new Honda CR-V Concept, back in July, now we managed to discover some engine leaked information, in order to create an idea about what Honda has in stored for us.
The guys at Temple of VTEC took a glance at the initial technical specification for the engine, thus we are able not only to form an opinion about how the car will look, but about what will have under the hood too when it hits dealerships late this year.
The base CR-V will have a 2.4-liter gasoline engine, but the power slightly went down from 180 hp to 175 hp, which we suppose it has to do with lower emissions and fuel consumption.
More interesting is the new engine designation – “New-K25” which is another version of the 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine that will churn out 201 horsepower in the 2012 Honda model.
Unfortunatelly, the new Honda will still have a five-speed automatic exaclty like the very much criticized new Civic, instead of following the leading industry and upgrade it with a six-speed unit.
