2012 Peugeot 4008 – Photos and Info

Peugeot designed and engineered an SUV that would be able to take the Mitsubishi ASX and Citroen’s C4 Aircross head on. The new Peugeot 4008 borrows some design elements from its rivals (like the lines of the lateral part), but the rest of it is all Peugeot. The front grill uses the new Peugeot design, the headlights bring a new approach, and are fitted with LED daytime lighting.

Let’s talk about the inside. The option of panoramic roof will be available for the 4008, offering plenty of light and view for both the driver and the passengers. This SUV won’t be missing the gadgets either. There will be a sat-nav controlled by a touchscreen, and a video camera for backing up. The dimensions of this car (4.34 m length, 1.80 m width) demonstrate the fact that this SUV is built mainly for urban use.

There will be four engine choices for the Peugeot 4008 (two Diesels and two gasoline-based). The gasoline choices are a 1.6-liter 160 horsepower one that is connected to a 5 speed manual. The 2.0 gasoline that delivers 150 horsepower, and gets the option of installing a CVT transmission is also available. The Diesels are a 112 horsepower 1.6-liter with a five speed or six speed manual, and a 150 horsepower 1.8 liter with a manual six-speed.

The Peugeot 4008 has the purpose of heating up the battle in the affordable urban SUV market segment, from which the Nissan Qashqai and the Volkswagen Tiguan are also part of.
