by Site Default

The Porsche 911 is the most successful car in Porsche’s history. The German manufacturer has released 5 generations thus far, and a sixth, the 2012 Porsche 911, known internally as Porsche 991, will be released in 2012.

The new 911 will be a completely new vehicle, although one might recognize it as part of the well-known series. As some sources state, the new car will be significantly larger.

The vehicle will be powered by a 3.4L direct-injected flat-six engine which produces 350 horsepower that will make the car able to reach 188 mph, and make 0 to 60 in 4.6 seconds (or 4.4 with PDK). The fuel consumption in the city is 28.3 mpg. The car will have a seven speed manual transmissions.

As far as the price is concerned, it will be about as big as the one of the previous 911, about $126,000.

Porsche has revealed the 2012 911 at the 2011 Frankfurt Motor Show.
