2013 Audi Q5 S Spied In The Alps [Spy Shots]

by Sebastian Bivin

The Q5 from Audi has been available on the German market since November 2008. Although it has extremely successfully cast a spell over the Compact SUV fans, the dust has settled on it. However, the German brand has a solution for this considering that a new Q5 is in the works. Spy photographers spotted a very mysterious Audi Q5 in the Alps, and while at first glance nothing looks out of the ordinary, at a closer look you’ll see some special details.

One of the most important aspects is the new quad tailpipe arrangement at the rear, hinting that this is a new performance variant, likely to be a very early prototype for an S Q5. Keep in mind that this is just the start ,while the final version should feature a distinctive bodykit and custom tires and wheels. Of course, the S badging will be all around vehicle.

Rumor say that the new Q5 S will come with the same supercharged 3.0-liter V-6 found in the S4 and S5. The force-fed engine should propel the Q5 SUV from 0-60 mph in less than 6s, being rated at 333 hp and 325 pound-feet of torque. Anyway, is much too early to talk about this.

The Audi Q5 S might debut late next year, most likely as a 2013 model. Rumor say that it will exceed the $60,000 limit.
