As per the latest reports, Audi is planning to launch a more practical five-door S3 Sportback, after the three-door version goes on sale in early 2013.
The sources claim that the new variant will be featuring the same 2.0-liter, direct-injection turbocharged TFSI engine which is capable of producing 296 hp (220 kw) and 280 lb-ft (380 Nm) of torque, making it 35 hp (26 kW) and 22 lb-ft (30 Nm) more powerful than its predecessor, power to the vehicle is sent to all four wheels via the standard six-speed manual or the optional dual clutch S tronic gearbox. While in terms of speed, the outgoing S3 sprints 0-62 mph (100 km/h) in 5.8 seconds, the figures for the new variant are yet to be revealed. Talking about fuel efficiency, when fitted with the manual, the 2013 S3 returns 34.1 mpg (41 mpg UK or 6.9 liters / 100 km), while with the S tronic achieves 33.6 mpg (40.3 mpg UK or 7 liters / 100 km). Now these figures are claimed by various sources, lets not just believe them blindfoldedly.
