This week was really busy considering that Frankfurt Motor Show was the host for many debuts. One of the attractions of the event was a completely original vehicle called “Surf,” unveiled by Fisker Automotive.
Fisker Automotive, a company which has been producing electric vehicles with extended range since 2007, recently announced the signing of an engine agreement with the German manufacturer BMW. Fisker sees its latest design as a radical departure from traditional vehicles offered by other electric vehicle manufacturers. This deal with BMW means that the German company will supply Fisker with engines and other components for future Fisker models.
Even if the Surf may look too outlandish to be anything but a concept, it is very much headed for production considering that the manufacturer announced that this new model will join the Karma on the Valmet Automotive production line in Finland next year, with international deliveries scheduled for July 2012.
As a reminder, the 2013 Fisker Surf is a pretty impressive range-extended electric vehicle that comes fitted with a 260-horsepower turbocharged onboard range-extender engine, a 175 kW (234 horsepower) electric motor, 20 kWh battery pack, and 5.9-second 0-60 mph times. According to the manufacturer, all Fisker models will be sold worldwide, with sales expected to be split 40 percent in Europe, 40 percent in the US and 20 percent in Asia.

The Fisker will NEVER be delivered. It will flop just like Henrik Fisker’s other ventures.
