2013 Ford Mustang Cobra Jet caught testing

by Alex

Though it was only recently that our photographer friends have brought back all the details of the 2012 Ford Mustang Cobra Jet, but their spy cameras are hot in pursuit for more. And this time, they’ve got the next generation Cobra Jet, which is going to debut on 2013, while it underwent some testing.

It is very hard not to notice the giant ram air hood resembling a flared nostril for the Mustang. When given a careful look, the massive drag slicks stuffed in the rear wheel wells and special exhaust tips that spurt out their growl just behind the front wheel wells can be seen. All these indicate that this new Cobra Jet will be a more powerhouse model with a sportier and more aggressive appearance.

The 2012 Cobra Jet will get its juice from a revised 5.4 liter DOHC supercharged aluminum block engine that has a max power rating of 430 HP. Transferring that much of power to the wheels is accomplished by a 3-speed C4 Auto Race transmission. There will e just 50 units of this edition built, each priced at $91,900. Price of the 2013 model is likely to be higher, but with a similar limited run. We’ll get the official details as soon as they are released anytime in 2012.
