This is the facelifted 2012 Hyundai Genesis Coupe, which is expected to go on sale next year following a debut at the 2012 Detroit Auto Show in January.
Despite the fact the the prototype seen here is is wrapped in that brown-black camouflage, we can see the revised headlights and indicators on the side view mirrors, as well as intricate LED detailing on the tail lamps. Expect the new model to come with revised styling on the bumpers, new wheel designs and the revamped interior.
As for the power, there’s a rumor that a V-8 option will be made available, possibly the 429 horsepower and 376 pound-feet of torque ‘Tau’ V-8 from the Genesis 5.0 R-Spec and Equus. If it’s so, for the first time, the new Genesis Coupe will become a strong competitor for the Ford Mustang GT and Chevrolet Camaro SS. Beside this, the 2012 facelifted Genesis Coupe should also adopt Hyundai’s in-house developed eight-speed automatic transmission.
There’s no official details about pricing, but considering the price of the current model, expect the 2012 facelifted Hyundai Genesis Coupe to be priced around $45,000.
