2013 Lotus Exige Shows Its Face Again Revealing New Details [Spy Shots]

by Ionut Dragomir

We have heard about a new Lotus Exige for quite some time now, and we presented you the first spy shots of the real car. Now, in addition to the first photos of the new Lotus Exige almost one month ago, it’s time for an update with new photos. And this time they reveal a lot more than the first grainy shots. This time we have a clear look at both the new front and back, and Lotus has added a new rear wing on that longer back.

From these pictures we can see that the new Exige will get a nose looking a lot like the one from the Evora and that the rear also is completely different and makes the car look much longer. In fact the roofline looks different from the current Exige. Beside this, other things we can notice on these photos are the bigger brakes.

As for the power, we believe that this new version is powered by the same V6 engine as also found in the bigger Evora. That would mean a 3.5 liter V6 producing 280 horsepower in the normal version and 350 horsepower in the S version.

Also, considering that the mules we seen before where all wider, we suspect that the new Exige is slightly wider than the current one.

Rumor say that the new car will come with a starting price of $80-85,000, but this remain to be seen. The new model will make its world debut in 2012 at the Geneva Motor Show probably as a 2013 model. Meanwhile you can check the photo gallery below and spy photos taken a month ago, by clicking here.
