2013 Mercedes-Benz GLA 45 AMG returns in new spy shots

by David Bond

The Mercedes-Benz GLA 45 AMG has been spied yet again ahead of what will be a late 2013 or an early 2014 arrival.

Earlier this month, Mercedes-Benz had unveiled the regular GLA compact crossover which in a few months is expected to receive a more powerful AMG version. It will probably have the same engine as the A45 AMG hatchback and CLA 45 AMG sedan which is a turbocharged 4-cylinder 2.0-liter engine. The engine will be able to generate an output of 360 HP (265 kW) and a maximum torque of 450 Nm (332 lb-ft).

Power will be sent to the 4MATIC all-wheel drive system with the help of a dual-clutch, seven-speed AMG SPEEDSHIFT gearbox. With the help of this arrangement, the GLA 45 AMG should be able to accelerate to 62 mph (100 kmph) in approximately 5 seconds before hitting an electronically capped top speed of 155 mph (250 kmph).

The model did have quite a bit of camo as seen from the pictures and the details about the model are also limited currently. However we expect that more details would be revealed in the coming time and as the launch time nears.
