Mercedes has been releasing a lot of models recently, so the next logical move would have been to update the SL class – so they did. The 2013 SL550 is powered by 4.6-litres V8 that delivers 429 horsepower and a maximum torque of 516 lb-ft. This engine enables the car to accelerate from 0 to 60 in just 4.5 seconds and hit an electronically limited top speed of 155 mph. The SL550 features a 7 speed Dirver-Adaptive (automatically adjusts to the driving style of the driver) automatic transmission. The exterior design hasn’t changed much, and still is a pleasure to look as, like the previous model. On the inside, a lot of systems provide comfort for the passengers and driver: Magic Vision Control (new windshield wiper system), front bass, hands-free access (enables the driver to open the trunk by just moving their foot near the rear bumper), COMAND infotainment with internet access, and others. There is more elbow, shoulder and leg room than in previous models. The new models from the SL Class will be available starting spring of 2012. In the US, only the SL550 will be available for purchase, while European buyers will be able to buy the SL350 aswell. The cost price is about $122,000.
