2013 Mercedes Benz SLS AMG Black Series – Rendering Released

As you probably know already, the German car maker Mercedes-Benz is planning the introduction of a wilder version of its SLS AMG Gullwing sports car. This new model will come under the “Black Series” moniker, which builds upon the standard AMG models in order to offer a more hardcore look , while it will improve performance.

“We absolutely have to do a Black Series” as Tobias Moers – Director of Vehicle Development at Mercedes-AMG GmbH, said

Just a few days after this announcement, Dan Buzdugan of PS-Garage decided to release this rendering of what the SLS AMG Black Series edition may look like into our mailbox.

The artist took its inspiration from the track model and from the already existing Black Series models (SL 65 and the recent C 63 Coupe). As you can see above, this rendering includes a redesigned front bumper with larger side and lower air vents, plus a carbon fiber spoiler lip, hood scoops with a black mesh trim, new rocker panels and restyled side vents. In addition to these comes the larger multispoke alloy wheels in a black finish and the new mirror housings in the same color round off the changes.

In terms of performance, the new Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG Black Series Edition is expected to have a revised 6.3-liter (6,208cc) V8 engine with approximately 600 hp (447 kW / 608 PS) and 677 Nm (499 lb-ft) of torque.

Considering that it will be a limited edition series, expecting at least a 50% price increase, over the actual coupe model.
