2013 Volkswagen Beetle Unveiled.

Volkswagen Beetle– One of the most iconic cars ever manufactured by the Volkswagen Group, The Volkswagen Beetle, officially called the Volkswagen Type 1 (or informally the Volkswagen Bug), is an economy car produced by the German auto maker Volkswagen. With over 21 million manufactured in an air-cooled, rear-engined, rear-wheel drive configuration, the Beetle is the longest-running and most-manufactured car of a single design platform, worldwide.

And now, Volkswagen is launching its Iconic Beetle, which is not just a normal Beetle, rather it is a Convertible Beetle! Yes you heard it right! the new Beetle which conveys the company’s story from how it began with the original Beetle Convertible (known to be as Type 15) which was first launched in 1949 and then 2002’s Beetle Convertible, and finally now, with the third one which offers a new dimension for roof-less, driving pleasure.

This may sound shocking to many out there reading this news that, during the period of 1949 to 1980, 330,000 units of the original Beetle Convertible were produced, which proves the fact that this car used to run from generation to generation, presumably the german automaker had tried this one into a cult car. While creating this new model the german automaker took days, and months, to come out with such a legendary design structure of this car, which boasts of its flatter roofline and a windshield which has become more upright, which reminds us of the original version.

Talking about its design this new Beetle also incorporates the air-inlet under the bumper, the flat outline of hood’s bottom edge, and certainly the tailights which shows a bond of the family ties. The new Beetle boasts of new technology and the standard quality flow which reminiscent the legendary model, and as an tribute the headlights are still in their classic round shape.

Despite its compact construction the new Beetle’s soft-top when lies flat enables a good vision to the rear, whereas the top is very wide and extended in shape, the new soft-top open/closes in about 10 seconds and accelerates up to 30mph.

The features included within the new Beetle Convertible is a standard soft-top, tukc in neatly, the nearby surrounding chrome trim is made more noticeable within its boder between steel and fabric, and as in other beetle models which has a compact instrument panel with round cluster, glove box and much other fetaures creates a diffrence between a new and older version of this car.

The powertrain of this new Beetle Convertible goe slike this, it comes with an option of 7 engines. The base engine is a highly efficient 1.2-liter TSI(Turbo Sport Injection), delivering 77 kW/ 105 PS. And right from when the company has launched its BlueMotion technology, it has always been a hit, so a version of this BlueMotion technology is available in the gasoline models. The other engine options are a 1.4-liter TSI, and a 2.0-liter version, which guhses out 118 kW and 147 kW respectively. For Customers who are looking forward for Diesel Models, Volkswagen has an option of 1.6-liter TDI(Turbo diesel with Direct Injection) with 77 kW (including as a BMT version) and the 2.0-liter TDI, delivering 103 kW.

The new Beetle convertible is a spacious and comfortable car, which has a slpendid interior, which comes as fully-fledged four-seat vehicle, the trunk of the vehicle enfolds upto 225 liters of a fold-down with symmetrically split rear bench seat, allowing to load up bigger items when closed.

Speaking of safety terms in this Cabrio, Volkswagen has come up with an active rollover protection system, which consists of two extendable modules fitted inside the vehicle in such a manner that hides itself from the back of the rear bench. Another safety feature is front and head- thorax airbags, which are standard. Along with the fixed A-pillars these provide effective protection for the occupants of all four seats in just a matter of seconds.

Orders will start this November in Germany for the new Beetle Convertible, which comes with a starting price tag of at €21,350.

This time it is for sure that like the other Beetles which always have rendered the past with its glorious design and soothing driving experience, this new variant from the Volkswagen group will definitely turn many heads, when on roads.
